Installation Inspections

Our general day-to-day bread-and-butter works are standard installation inspections.

For companies and homeowners alike this our standard service produces a complete report consisting of the following:

  • Contractual detail
  • Preamble
  • Issues instructed to address
  • Inspector customer agreements
  • Executive summary
  • Conclusion
  • Report photographs
  • Documents relied on
  • Expert declaration and statement of truth

If agreements can be agreed between parties prior to or upon the visit the report can include scopes of works, bills of quantity, sign off documentation, nonconformance documentation.

Two thermally bound copies of this report are produced and one sent to our client and the other to the homeowner.

These documents are produced and presented in such a way should either party to take the case to court this document can be sent in its entirety as court evidence for both parties!

Product Inspections

Similar to the previously mentioned installation inspections in as much as the way the reports are produced

The difference between the reports is that a product inspection is normally a specific terms of engagement i.e. a contractor could request the services of independent specialists to provide a report based only on the product and not taken to consideration..

Regulation 7 Inspections

Approved document seven of the building regulations pertains to materials and workmanship.

It should be noted that this regulation only pertains to England and not Wales. A high number of fenestration inspection failures [nonconformity] of inspections carried out by the competent person schemes such as Fensa Certass etc are in this regard.
